Well its been a busy time on the competition front. Following on from the Robert Shaw and High Peak external competitions we held our first internal competition of the season.

First Internal Competition

This was an Open DPI competition which was judged by members of the club. Congratulations to Jeff Dakin for his winning image Roe Deer Buck scoring 20 points. More details and the top images can be found on our internal competitions page: Internal Competitions 2023/2024.

L&CPU Knockout Competition

We entered our first L&CPU competition for a while. This was the L&CPU Knockout Competition where each club can enter 8 images with no more than 2 per author. Whilst we didn’t win we did manage to come 7th out of 40 clubs which I think merits an honourable mention. For more details please visit our external competitions page: External Competition Images 23/24.

Vera International

The L&CPU Knockout was quickly followed (the very next day) with an international competition between Macclesfield Camera Club and Vera International, who are based in Mojácar. 24 images from both clubs were judged by Macclesfield Camera Club’s past president and member: Brian Law, who quite rightly showed no bias or favouritism. It was a great way to pass an afternoon on a seasonal wet and grey November Sunday. Congratulations to Alex White for having the top image (Dawn at Vasco da Gama Bridge) and to Macclesfield Camera Club who won out on the day. For more details please see our external competitions page: External Competition Images 23/24.
